- Method Description
Reflectance Transformation Imaging (RTI) is a new imaging technique that creates hyper-realistic digital surrogates that are interactively controlled by the viewer. This new method uses multiple digital images of a static subject (for example a dress or another museum object) collected from a fixed camera position. Each image is lit from a slightly different angle, and when the images are combined in a specific software the viewer can virtually control the direction of the light in order to reveal different aspects of the object.
